About the Laser Center for Vision

History

When the Laser Center for Vision opened in December 1995 in Amarillo Texas, what began as little more than a vision by eye surgeons Robert E. Gerald, M.D, J. Avery Rush, M.D, and Bruce Weinberger, M.D. became one of the leading laser centers in the country. Our state-of-the-art facility encompasses more than 7,000 square feet of the most advanced eye care technology available. This includes our Excimer laser suite, which features our LADARVision® 4000, which is equipped with the newest Custom Cornea® technology. Our CK facility features the Viewpoint TM CK System.

Our center also features a multi-media education center, a private patient viewing area, pre and post-operative recovery areas and a patient reception area all centered around our 40-foot tall open-air atrium and waterfall.

Our doctors were proud to perform the first LASIK procedure in the Panhandle, and today are recognized among the leading LASIK surgeons in the country. Dr. Robert Gerald, Dr. J. Avery Rush, and Dr. Bruce Weinberger are long-time residents of Amarillo who have distinguished themselves in their professional careers and in their commitment to our local community. They are Board Certified in Ophthalmology, are Fellows of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and are active members in the American Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgery.
