LASIK surgery is a quick and often painless procedure performed by our ophthalmologists in about 10 minutes. An instrument called a microkeratome is used to create a flap on the outermost portion of the cornea. The flap is gently folded back, and the laser is then used to reshape the cornea. Finally, the flap is repositioned over the eye, and the procedure is complete.
